Special thanks to Will

Will was the force behind this outing, he only knew Mindy for a few years before she past away. My greatest memory of the 2 of them was when she left for Cleveland she made him promise to have a beer with her when she got back. Well, when Mindy came home she ended up back in the hospital so they didn't get to share that beer. The week before Mindy passed he came with me to the hospital and brought the beer for her. When he came in the room he showed her the beer and sat it on the shelf. Mindy sat up in bed and asked him, "Did you bring your bleach bottle? This room needs cleaned." For those of you that don't know him that well, Will is a neat freak. They both had a good laugh out of that one and he always tells the story. I know I would not have been able to make it through those last few months of her life and this past year without him. He is always there reminding me of Mindy, letting me know she is in a better place and that Dad and her are watching over us all.

Will decided back in May the best way to honor Mindy was to put on this outing for the friends and family and help raise money for a good cause. He lined up the course, prizes and hole sponsors. He worked with Prairieview, C&G, X107.5 and several other places to make her outing the best it could be. I know he has put alot of thoughts and efforts into the outing this year.

I've gotten calls from Sandy, Linda and Aunt Kay telling me what a wonderful job he did. Plus alot of emails from the cousins. We all want to thank you for what you did in Mindy's memory and know the Lauf family will always be thankful to you.

Love,
Trina and the Lauf family.

Honorable Mentions

Brennan, youngest golfer.

Old Man, oldest golfer and 1st time golfer!!!!! I'm sure he paid for it over the next couple of days. Uncle Donny, complained alot about the game but I'm sure he had alot of fun.

Jackie gets the award for the lowest score, sorry Will corrected me HIGHEST score, but she was a good sport. Prairieview donated a day at the course so she could get some practice in for next year.

Most beer consumed would have to be a tie between Will's team of 4 and Danny and Kenny by themselves.

Jackie is also awarded the most colorful golfer at the outing.

Donations

I've had several people ask or post comments on where they can send donations too. I have been working with Julia Mason at the grief camp in Ottawa. Please send any donations to the address below and please note the Mindy Lauf golf outing on the donations.
Please make all checks payable to the Putnam County Hospice Good Grief Fun Camp.

Dinner

Thank you Prairie View for the great day, Gary, Doug and the staff did a wonderful job putting this together for us. We wouldn't have been able to have the outing without them.
Thanks to everyone that brought food, paperplates and bowls, silverware and snacks to the outing. This was a big help. Also thank you, Custom Catering's Derrick Dempsey. We had alot of people comment on the chicken, telling us how good it was. I appreciate Danny, Kenny and Lisa staying later to help us load up the vans.
Everyone was great helping out donating things to the outing. Thanks for being a wonderful family and making Mindy's outing a huge success. Hope to see everyone next year for the 2nd annual outing. We love you all.

50/50 "girls"

Mady and Kiana were our 50/50 girls at the outing, they did a great job selling tickets. The grand total for the drawing was $590.00. Kenny Lauf won the drawing for $295.00 and gave the money back as a donation for the camp. BIG thanks to cousin Kenny!!!!!!

Mady picking the winning ticket with Aunt Trina.
Kenny Lauf, 50/50 winner.

Time for a break, Kiana and Brennan had to stop for a "sipping" cup break.

Mady also had to stop for a much needed hug from "Uncle" Doug.

The girls had to enlist their cousins Tommy and Jamie's help selling tickets, neither of them were old enough to drive.

Mady taking a swing for Cousin Jessie, this was the reason Jackie came in last instead of Jess. Mady's been practicing!!!!!!

Another pit stop for a hug from Uncle Brian. It's hard to believe they actually sold tickets with all the socializing they did.
