About Mindy

Melinda Sue Lauf
June 21, 1980- November 12, 2007
Verse on her headstone:
God saw she was getting tired
And a cure was not to be
So he put his arms around her
And whispered come with me.
With tearful eyes we watched her suffer
And saw her fade away
Although we love her dearly
We could not make her stay.
A golden heart stopped beating
Hard working hands now at rest
God broke out hearts to prove to us
He only takes the best.

In May of 2006, Mindy was diagnosed with AML Leukemia at the age of 25. After a bone marrow transplant at OSU hospital, trips to Cleveland Clinic and many rounds of chemo her cancer spread to the brain and she succumbed to this fatal disease at the age of 26 on November 12, 2007.

Mindy was the youngest daughter of Bob (deceased) and Sandy Lauf, she has 3 sisters and 3 brothers, 2 nieces and 4 nephews. She also left behind a wonderful daughter, Madysen Leigh, who was named after our dad. Mady is 5 years old now and ready to start kindergarten this year, she now resides with her grandparents John and Linda.

Mindy, Trina, Gina and Amy, sisters.

She graduated from Ft. Jennings HS in 1999 and was studying nursing at the Brown Mackie College in Findlay. Growing up she loved soccer, gymnastics and driving her older siblings crazy. She was also into Nascar, Dale Ernhart Jr. and OSU football.

Her biggest joy in life was Mady, her very prissy daughter. Everyone that knew Mindy, knew she was a tomboy. For her to have a little girl that loves pink dresses, dancing and lipstick was dad's way of giving her a taste of her own medicine.
